EASY-CHANGE Gullet System: Complete Kit

The EASY-CHANGE Gullet System complete kit is designed for saddles featuring the EASY-CHANGE Gullet System.

Contains: an EASY-CHANGE Gullet Gauge, all five gullet plate options, and all the fixings for fitting them in your saddle.

Please note: the medium (black) gullet is fitted as standard in all standard saddles, except the High Wither models which are fitted with a medium narrow (green) gullet.

How does the EASY-CHANGE Gullet System work?

The EASY-CHANGE Gullet System offers a way of altering the width of the Elastiflex tree in your saddle. The Elastiflex tree is supported by the rigid gullet at the head and has true lateral flexion to work with your horse's muscles. Tree width is determined by the size of gullet plate fitted between the tree points, which governs the width from the waist to the tree points.

Genuine EASY-CHANGE gullet plates are engineered to be completely rigid, so they cannot spread or change shape under normal use. Gullet plates are coded by size and remain true to that size throughout their life.

Important: only genuine EASY-CHANGE gullet plates are accredited for use in saddles featuring the EASY-CHANGE Gullet System. Non-genuine component parts are not accredited for use in these saddles, and damage caused by them is not covered by our warranty. Please see our warranty page for the full terms.

What size gullets are available?

Standard saddles take six interchangeable gullet plates, coded by size.

• Narrow, 210 mm
• Medium narrow, 220 mm
• Medium, 230 mm
• Medium wide, 240 mm
• Wide, 245 mm
• Extra wide, 255 mm

There is a 3 mm tolerance above and below the standard measurement because of the manufacturing process. Measurements are taken from the inside of the gullet plate at its widest point. They are for reference only and are not intended to be used for fitting. To find the right gullet for your horse, use the EASY-CHANGE Gullet Gauge and the advice of a professional saddle fitter.

Which gullet comes fitted in my saddle?

Most Wintec saddles come fitted with a medium (black) gullet. High Wither models come fitted with a medium narrow (green) gullet, and WIDE saddles come fitted with a 2XW gullet.

How do I know if my saddle has HART?

Turn your saddle over and look under the cantle. Saddles with Horse and Rider Technology carry a HART badge there. It is the only marking on the saddle, so if the badge is present you have all five HART technologies.

What tools do I need?

A long-handled Phillips head number 3 screwdriver, and the EASY-CHANGE locating tool that comes with your riser pack. Most people find the first change takes a little longer than later ones. If you are unsure at any point, your saddle fitter or stockist can do it for you.
